Nikola Vaić

Nikola Vaić was born on February 26, 1941. He graduated from the elementary school “Matteotti” in Rijeka, where he learned the Italian language. In 1964 he graduated from the Faculty of Law in Zagreb, at that time the only one in Croatia. Afterwards he worked as a trainee in Hamburg with the lawyers Pflüger and Schön, mainly dealing with maritime and commercial law. Its largest client was the shipping company “Hamburg Süd”.
After his return from Hamburg, he became an intern in his father’s law firm in February 1965. On 1.1.1968 he was registered in the Bar Register of the HOK (Croatian Bar Association) in Zagreb. He completed his postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb under the supervision of Professor A. Goldstein. The master’s thesis was in maritime law.
Nikola retired in 2020, but continues to work at the law firm. In total, Nikola can look back on over 60 years of professional experience.
